About Us

Who Are We? 

We are a group of ordinary people involved in humanitarian work for the benefit of the disadvantaged in society. We are organized under the banner of the Firefly Mission (FFM) of Singapore. We provide a platform for like-minded people to embark on charity work in such areas as community welfare, education and healthcare. Many of our projects are carried out in places outside of Singapore. 

Our Logo and Motto

Our Logo signifies a Firefly emitting light... the light of compassion that we believe exists in everyone's heart. When many individuals come together through Firefly Mission, we can light up the world.

Our motto, “Together We Light Up the World”, underlines the vision of the Firefly Mission (FFM) to act as an agent of change to improve and transform the livelihood of the underprivileged and to bring more joy to the world we live in.

Education

Firefly Mission believes in the importance of education to uplift society and build a better future. By providing the necessary basic facilities and enabling infrastructures, children will have an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in a safe environment.

Health Care

By facilitating better access to healthcare, communities can continue with their daily lives and livelihood essential towards being self-sufficient.  In some communities where this is lacking due to affordability, distances from major facilities or the availability of basic healthcare, FFM play a role in bridging this gap and improve outcomes and reduce the burden of illness. It also helps to alleviate stress and uncertainty, allowing people to focus on their recovery and well-being.

Community Welfare

Community welfare support fosters social cohesion and solidarity.  It brings people together, encouraging a culture of compassion and mutual aid. When communities rally around those who are facing difficulties, for example in times of natural disasters or a persistent lack of amenities, it not only provides immediate relief but also strengthens the fabric of society, making them more resilient in the face of challenges.

Dhammaduta

Dhammaduta support involves aiding the community of monks and lay practitioners who are dedicated to sharing and upholding the principles of the Buddha Teachings. We encourage our members to practise generosity, upholding good moral conduct and mindfulness cultivation. Some of the areas include preserving and disseminating the Dharma, promoting spiritual education & friendships, and providing support for the continuation of the Buddha’s Dispensation. ​
